The Effect of Mother’s Overprotective Parenting Attitude on Cyberbullying Violence: Relational Aggression and the Mediating Effect of Self-Control

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to examine relational aggression and the mediating effect of self-control in the relation between mother’s overprotective parenting attitude recognized by an adolescent and their cyberbullying violence. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a significant correlation among mother’s overprotective parenting attitude, cyberbullying violence, relational aggression, and self-control. Second, it was found from the structural equation that the full mediating effect of relational aggression existed in the relation between mother’s overprotective parenting attitude and cyberbullying violence. Third, it was found from the structural equation that self-control did not mediate the relation between mother’s overprotective parenting attitude and cyberbullying violence.
